Pakistan Military Feels Uneasy On The Way Musharraf Is Treated

Pakistan's poweful army chief has suggested the military is unhappy with the treatment autthoroties are showing toward former army chief and president of Pakistan since his return from abroad. A pakistani court on Tuesday imposed a lifetime ban on contesting election by Parvez Musharraf, undermining his efforts to regain influence by winning a seat in the parliament. Army chief general Ashfaq Kiani said, "iin my opinion, it is not merely retribution, but awareness and participation of the masses that can truly end the game of hide and seek between the democracy and dictatorship." Kiani, arguably the most poweful figure in Pakistan, was delivering a Martyre's Day speech at army headquarters. Newspapers carried his comments on frontpages. Pakistan military sets security and foreign policies even when civilian governments are in power. It rightly does so because civilian governments are incapable and mostly corrupt. Illiterate people are usually sitting in the parliament who even does not know the legislation but are bribed by developmental funds, prococols, security, perks and porivileges for which they contest elections. Parvez Musharraf is the first former army chief and former president of Pakistan who has to face different cases in the courts. The first masrtial law administrator, who resigned and handed over power to general Yahya Khan, who gave way to forst fair elections in Pakistan, But due to the Pakistani politics half of the country was lost during his era. Though politicians were more responsible for it than the army. Both the former generals died but no body could assk them about high treason and registered any case against them. General Zia ul Haq toppled Bhutto's government and died in plane crash during 1988 but no case was filed in the court against him Parvez Musharraf was pushed in the politics by the blunders of politicians, he ruled the country. All the politicians supported him except a few. Some were of the view toelect him ten times in military uniform but no body asks them. Parvez Musharraf whose regime was much better than the latest government completing five years and had the worst governance and worst dictatorship but no body is going to ask them about load shedding price hike and looting of national money. The most brave army chief who had the courage to return to Pakistan in spite of life threats, casesawaiting him but he is going to face different charges and arrested. How would an organised, descilines and prestigious institution will tolerate its chief's disgrace by an ordinary police man who could arrest him. Why not cases be opened after death against those who broke constitution and were responsible for high treason. Who justified their treason? courts? why not those responsible to give them justification be put to trials? Only Parvez Musharraf is the guilty?
