For the first time in the history of Pakistan, a transgender person has been given a job in the federal government. Recently, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has hired Muhammad Zahid alias Nomi, a transgender person, on contigent basis equivalent to SPS 4 in its headquarter in Islamabad. Nomi said it is still unbelievable that he got a respectable government jobon merit and now he will be able to earn money with full respect and dignity.Nomi who belongs to Faisalabad but currently living in Bari Imam, Islamabad has been hired as cook and serving at BISP's cafeteria. His passions for cooking, trying new dishes and serving them in different styles has helped her achieive all he wished for. He said his appointment is answer to all those people, especially my neighbors and relatives, who believe that a person like can earn only through illegal means. Earlier he earn money by dancing. He said he hoped now people will feel proud of me than degrading me by calling him "khusra". DG of the program said it is a proud moment for them that Nomi has joined their team and it was just a beginning and they intend to hire more transgender persons. BISP has also warned that any person found guilty of harrasing Nomi will be terminated.
A fig plant has played a key role in solving a missing person's case and revealed what happened to him-after it grew from his stomach. In 1974 conflict erupted on Mediterranean island of Cyprus when the Greeks attempted a military coup to depose president Makarios III, but Turkish forces hot back and armed forces invaded the island. The Committe established in 1981 had been for the remains n moof missing people. One of those was Ahmet Herguner.His brother said they searched for him for years but found nothing. Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) became curious when they found a fig tree in the town of Paraklisa, a mountainous area they do not usually grow. The CMP then dug up the area and found three bodies under the tree and took samples for their records. When the CMP learned Ahmet had been one of the people who had gone missing, they were able to identify him, matching the blood samples with DNA fragments. He had been taken to a a cave in and was blown up with dynamite. He had eaten figs before he was blown up, and the seeds of it in his stomach had grown and turned into a tree that identified him.

A video of Hindu woman being thrashed by police officers last weekover marrying a Muslim man has gone viral on social media, drawing backlash of online users. In the footage, apparently film in Uttar Pradesh, shows the unnamed woman in a police van being attacked and abused by four policemen who seem to have rescued her from a mob attack over the same "crime".
The video was shot when the police were taking the couple to police station in separate vehicles.

The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has received pre-qualification bids for the Diamer-Bhasha dam – one of the two water reservoirs which the Supreme Court as well as the newly-elected government have expressed resolve to build in view of the grueling water crisis.
According to a statement issued to media, the authority on Wednesday received these bids for construction of the main dam and appurtenant structures of the project from as many as five joint ventures of foreign and local firms through international competitive bidding.
“The pre-qualification bids will be evaluated in accordance with the bid documents and the relevant procurement rules of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC),” the statement said.
Soldiers contribute Rs1b towards dam drive
Diamer Bhasha Dam is a multipurpose project meant for water storage, flood mitigation and power generation. The project will be constructed across the River Indus about 40 kilometer downstream of Chillas town. The 272-metre high roller compacted concrete (RCC) dam will have a gross water storage capacity of 8.1 million acre feet (MAF).
The project will generate 4,500 megawatt electricity with annual energy generation of more than 18 billion units of low-cost and environment-friendly electricity. With the construction of the dam, life of the Tarbela Dam will enhance to another 35 years.
It will also have a positive impact on the annual energy generation of the projects in the downstream areas. It is estimated that the annual energy generation of the existing hydel power stations including Tarbela, Ghazi Barotha, Jinnah and Chashma will increase by about 2.5 billion per annum.
The annual energy generation of the future hydropower projects including Dasu, Pattan and Thakot will also surge by another 7.5 billion units.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law were taken out of Adiala Jail in a motorcade. They were expected to travel to Lahore in the night. According to sources in the Pakistan Muslim League N, Shahbaz Sharif will leave for London at 3 am on Wednesday to receive Kalsoom Nawaz's dead body, which reports say was shifted to a mortuary in London, temporarily. Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz would not come to Pakistan. The beauty parlour's male owner, was arrested in Sukkur district for recording the videos of female customers through hidden cameras installed in wash room. has allegedly filmed and blackmailed 70 women. The arrested suspect Kamran Yousufzai owns Sonia Parlour which is located in the commercial area on Mission Road. The police geared into action after SSP Syed Asad Shah took notice of a complaint. The police raided the parlour and seized the cameras, recordings and bottles of liquor. The suspect extorted money from the female customers after recodrding their vides. CIA in-charge told the media that a woman informed the police about Yousufzai's blackmailing and also shared a video, he added that his mobile was connected with hidden cameras. He also said that they were investigating whether female beauticians were involved with Yousufzai's activities or not. His wifi cameras were connected to Yousufzai's mobile through an application and he also used to watch live videos. More than a dozen videos were stored in Yousufzai's mobile. The customers mostly used the washroom to change clothes. The arrested parlour owner admitted to recording the vides and he said he bought and installed cameras four to months ago.

**-- The Government Approved Alcohol Poisoning That Killed 10,000 People--
In the mid- 1920s, in Chicago, prohibition was in full swing. Unfortunately, so was the business of bottlelegging. The goverment could not keep up with the number of spealesies that were popping up and were having a hard time tracking down each and every member of the bottlelegging empire. It seemed for the prohibitionists, there was no way to control the masses. Then in 1926, the government got an idea and turned the tables on alcoholic public. Using the very thing they were attempting to prohibit. the government hoped they would end alcohol consumption once for all. Because grain alcohol and liquor were hard to obtain, people began turning to more easily accessible alcohol- such as those found in paint thinner and wood polish.This 'industrial alcohol' was essentially grain alcoholwith chemical added to it, through a process called "denaturing" that rendered it undrinkable. Denaturing was started in 1900 as a way for manufacturers to avoid taxes that were levied on drnkable spirits. In order to make it drinkable again, bottleleggers used mechanisms that filtered the chemicals out, in a process called "renaturing". Knowing how the bottleleggers renatured their alcohol, they bagan adding chemicals in paint thinners and wood polishes that could not be filtered out. such as methyl alcohol or methanol- today a common ingredient in antifreeze. Unbeknownist to bottleleggers, the chemicals rendered renaturing process entirely useless, and effectively turned the alcohol into poison. By 1933, 10,000 people had died from drinking it. and those who do not, suffered hallucination, blindness and excessive vomiting. The government simply told thet should not have been drinking the bottlelegged alcohol at the first place.
