The Most Hard Cricket Matches For Me As A Captain----Imran Khan

Imran Khan said as a captain of the team 3 matches were the most difficult ones. These were 1988 match against India, match against West Indies during 1988 and World Cup 1992. The match against India was hard because we had to play on their home ground and umpires were theirs too. Apparently our team was weak as well, but nation would have never tolerated defeat against India. When the teams of Pakistan and India are against each other, this does not remain a game but turns into real war for Pakistanis. The players are in pressure too against India in these circumstances. During 1988 when we played against West Indies, their team was the strongest one of the history. Single minor mistake could lead to crashing of the opposite team. To return home after draw match could be a great success as they had their home ground and their umpires, no world team could do that during a decade. The 1992 world cup matches were also nerve breaking.
During the decades of 1970's and 1980's, Pakistan's national team became stronger gradually and we could stand upright before our former masters( the Britishers). When any of the Pakistan, India and West Indies team entered the ground and had to play against England, there they consider the opportunity to get their old slavery wounds healed.
Imran Khan further wrote in his book that his two best friends in the cricket world, SirWaven Richard from West Indies and Suneil Gawaskar of India though in the same way with the same passions. I could rightly guess that during the decades of 1970's and 80's, to fight in the ground with English players was an active force behind the motivation. Specially in the playing style of Richard the restoration of integrity, ego and self-respect was the sentimental vigor because these qualities were snatched by the masters from the slaves.

New Study Proved That Einstein Was Correct In His View Of The Universe Expansion

Einstein has been proved correct in his view of how the universe is expanding, according to a scientific study released Friday.
The new test of Einstein’s view of the universe has proved him right with ‘’incredible accuracy’’ and is helping scientists to understand the mysterious acceleration of the universe.
A team of cosmologists have announced at the National Astronomy Meeting being held at the University of Manchester, the most accurate measurement-ever made from when the expansion of the universe began to accelerate.
It means that the phenomenon can be explained using just Einstein’s general theory of relativity and the cosmological constant, the simplest theoretical explanation for the acceleration of the universe.
The results will be used to understand what is causing the acceleration and why, and will shed new light on dark energy the name adopted for the fundamental agent driving the acceleration about which little is known.
The cosmologists from the University of Portsmouth and the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics have examined the period between five and six billion years ago when the universe was almost half its present age and made measurements of extraordinary accuracy within 1.7 per cent.

An Event That Shocked Me Much More Than My Mother's Death---- Imran Khan

A strange situation Arose among the team members when we got historical success in the 1992 World Cup. The members used to say that the national money will be spent on the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital, after the success. I am still astonished that why my team members were thinking in this way. While on the way back to home from Australia, we stopped at Singapore, Pakistan Ambassador handed over me a checque for Shaukat Khanum Hospital. I realized that my player thought the checque was actual their right. When We reached home, Lahore businessmen arranged a dinner in our honor in Shalimar Garden. There they intended to give me the money they had collected for the hospital. I was stunned when team member walked out of the function. This event pinched and shocked me so much that several other incidents that troubled me looked lighter;like death of my dear mother, listening details of massacre in East Pakistan by Ashraf ul Haq, and breakage of my leg during the peak of my cricket life.
All these were the players who were selected and trained by me. I played an active role to train them to the status of international players. i was much dishearten from their negative behavior toward me. After month of world cup I was under pressure because Pakistani community in England wanted me to visit England. They also wanted to contribute a huge money for the hospital. I was tired now after playing cricket for 21 years and wanted to retire and the Shalimar event played a decisive role in this regard.

Another 9/11-Style Attack Is Being Planned By AlQaeda--- American Official

This is not AlQaeda but the USA is planning to keep allied forces intact in Afghanistan. If NATo forces leave the USA military is not worth fighting Taliban and AlQaeda, except USA uses atom bomb as it did in Nagasaki and Heroshima. Yhis is American policy to release fake video of Al Qaeda leaders to threat own people to keep them silent regarding Afghanistan war and the expenses incurring out of public taxes.
British newspaper The Telegraph has quoted an American official claiming that al Qaeda has returned to Afghanistan and is planning to use the war-torn nation as a base to launch another 9/11-style attack on Western countries.
According to American ambassador to Kabul, Ryan Crocker, if the West was to leave Afghanistan too early, the al-Qaeda would be able to increase its presence.
"If we decide we're tired, they'll be back," Crocker told The Telegraph.
"Al-Qaeda is still present in Afghanistan. If the West decides that 10 years in Afghanistan is too long then they will be back, and the next time it will not be New York or Washington, it will be another big Western city," he added.
According to the report, Crocker said that while progress had been made, Afghanistan would need Western support for years to come.
He stressed said that the Al-Qaeda remained a potent threat despite suffering setbacks.
"We have killed all the slow and stupid ones. But that means the ones that are left are totally dedicated," said Crocker, who previously served as ambassador to Iraq.
"We think we've won a campaign before our adversaries have even started to fight. They have patience, and they know that we are short on that," he added.
According to the paper, NATO officials believe that nearly 100 Al-Qaeda fighters have returned to Afghanistan, based mainly in the Kunar and Nuristan provinces near the Pakistan border.
Hundreds more are based in Pakistan and could return if circumstances were to change.
Moreover, after the Toulouse shootings this month by a suspected Al-Qaeda-trained gunman, British intelligence officials believe the group is planning a wave of attacks against Western targets, including the London Olympics.

"Imran Khan Pakistan: A personal History" Autobiography Of A Cricketer Not The Politician

The book written by Imran Khan can be called a mental biography. The book envisages topics from religion to spirituality and politics. Though he did not mentioned separately about cricket in this book as he has narrated his cricket life in detail in his book "All Round View", however cricket runs in his body as blood so he has given examples from his cricket life experiences about any specific event in the book. The book also gives information about the decision of his retirement from cricket. Though the general impression about his retirement has been that Imran Khan had decided to retire from cricket after winning 92's World Cup, but, the book says that Khan had been thinking to go to England after world cup, however, the attitude of his colleagues forced him to retire from cricket.
About Zaheer Abbas, Imran Khan said that he had not seen the most concentrated batsman than him, in his life. He said that Zaheer Abbas had the full understanding of timing and he had full command over that. Zahher Abbas had natural capability of foreseeing the timing. During 1978 he had destroyed the bowling attack of visiting Indian Team. Only after one year when we visited India, cricket fans had greater expectations from Zaheer Abbas. It was clearly visible that he was burdened under the load of expectations. Instead of controlling the fear of failure he started looking toward opposite direction. First of all he unnecessarily disturbed his specific bating technique. I, Imran Khan said told him him that he has set a record due to his technique, last year. After a few days he was getting his eyes examined that something was wrong with his eyesight. Two weeks after that his condition worsened more and he was thinking that his worsening condition was due to sme black magic. Afterall, this great batsman had to leave the team. Imran Khan Says that after several year observations He learnt that many people meet with failure because they are deprived of the capability of analyzing the cause of failure exactly.

Moosa Feroz Made "Math Ambassador" By Australia

The Australian government on Thursday made Moosa Firoz, a 13-year old student from Phalia district of Punjab, a ‘Math Ambassador’.
Moosa had bagged first position in an online World Mathematics Competition held in Australia. He secured the first spot among 1.4 million students across the world. Disappointed over the indifference shown by Pakistani government, Moosa said he was expecting a warm welcome on his return from Australia.
“I feel really sad as I was expecting prime minister or Punjab chief minister will encourage me on this achievement for Pakistan,” he said.
“It seems that they do not have time to motivate emerging talent in the country.”
Moosa was awarded a gold medal in Australia recently. He secured 4,405 points and got the first place while another Pakistani student Hasnain got second position in the competition with 4,303 points in 11-13 years age category.
In the category of age 14-18 years, the country’s another student named Osama secured second place with 3,318 points. The math wizard said that he had been trying to win world math competition since 2009. “I had also clinched 5th spot in 2011.” Moosa’s father Dr Khaliq Dad Tararr expressed his joy over his son’s performance.

South Korea Plans To Unify Spelling Of Athletes Names At Olympics

South Korea is planning to unify the spelling of athletes names in English at this year's London Olympics to ease confusion among foreign journalists and fans, local media reported on Friday.
The initiative will lead to a universal enforcement of the system revised in 2000, in which Koreans are required to use their family name before their given names, in accordance with the National Institute of the Korean Language.
Several South Korean athletes, however, continue to use the initials of their given name before their family names in international competition, something they will no longer be able to do at the July 27-August 12 Games.
At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, baseball player Kim Hyun-soo wore "H S Kim" on his uniform, while swimmer Park Tae-hwan opted for Park T.H." on the back of his tracksuit.
In London, Olympic champion Park will be required to spell his name either "Park Taehwan" or "Park Tae-hwan", which can be shortened to "Park T." in case of initialization.
Anglicized South Korean names have baffled overseas fans, officials and journalists for years, with the discrepancy between what is written on team sheets and shirts triggering panic for journalists at deadline time.

Tablet To Be Developed That Would Erase Bitter Memories

Jefferey Michell, a clinical professor of the University of Maryland discovered a method of treatment to get rid of sentimental shocking memories on the basis of his personal experiences, He named the method "Critical Incident Stress Debriefing" (CISD). The basic concept of the treatment is that if somebody confronts a tragic ,dreadful and awesome incident he must discuss and share the matter with his close friends and expel his sentiments. This way the incident would not be sealed in the memory. Otherwise he may suffer some psychological disorder due to the sad incident. The disorder he falls to prey is called PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder).
The method of treatment (CISD) was not only accepted in the United States but by the out side world too. The neurologists are aware of the fact that when our mind tries to recall an event, it is helped by some proteins. Scientists want to block the way of these proteins by giving tablet to the patient. Thus they think that human being will be enabled to erase bitter memories any time he wants.
Every memory is saved in our mind through a set of one or two neuron cells. Recalling any incident, the neuron of the set linked to that memory are activated and then they activate other sets if needed. The process of creating ang saving memories is called consolidation.
The modern science is making human beings able by specific medication to revise or change memories or even get rid of negative memories and feel relaxed. The experts would direct the patient to recall the memory that is glooming him because these are saved in our minds through cellular consolidation. When one thinks about the past event the new proteins are needed to complete the process. These proteins connect all the cells linked to the past event. Among these proteins one on the important one is PKM Zeta. When the incident is prominently in the mind, experts would get it written or repeated by the patient. Now this particular event will be targeted by giving the patient a tablet that would not allow the PKM Zeta protein. This is the protein that makes the specific bitter memory saved in the mind. So due to non activation of this protein , this bitter memory will disappear from mind for ever. The neurologists are certain to develop such medicine that will target the bitter incident that one wants to erase. However, other memories will not be affected and will remain saved in the mind.

MTV's New Season Of "Unplugged" That Florence Called Amazing

Florence + the Machine kick off MTV's new season of "Unplugged" on April 9 with a show that singer Florence Welch called "amazing" as her powerful voice belted out hit songs like "Dog Days Are Over" in a candlelit room.
The soulful British singer and her backing band taped their "Unplugged" concert in New York's oldest synagogue building back in December to become the first of eight episodes airing across MTV and sister networks Vh1 and CMT. The Civil Wars and Dierks Bentley also are slated to perform during the new season.
MTV debuted its Emmy-winning "Unplugged" series in 1989, and it became an instant hit by taking singers and bands typically associated with big sounding pop music and stripping them down to basic, acoustic instruments and vocals. Over the years, the show has featured performances from popular artists including Mariah Carey, Eric Clapton, Nirvana and Jay-Z on intimate, often unconventional stages.
Backed by a 10-person choir, The Voices of Rivers, Welch performed fan favorites such as "Drumming Song" from her group's 2009 debut "Lungs," as well as the single "Never Let Me Go" from her most recent record, "Ceremonials."
Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme joined Welch for a cover of "Jackson," most famously sung by Johnny Cash and June Carter. Welch also covered "Try A Little Tenderness." Kanye West, who attended the taping with fellow rapper Q-Tip, sampled Otis Redding's version of the song on "Watch the Throne," his 2011 album with Jay-Z.
Welch said she was in awe of the former synagogue in which she and the Machine played and where the stage was decorated with dozens of candles.
"I had to stop myself after every song," Welch told Reuters. "I would be like, 'Wow.'
"It was so amazing performing the songs stripped back and just really being able to concentrate on the songs and the emotions," said Welch.
During the show, the soft-spoken singer told the live audience: "This is a real moment for me and to be doing an 'Unplugged' session is amazing."
Van Toffler, president of Viacom's Music and Logo Group, said MTV and its networks carefully select the artists they invite to perform, and self-promotion, even by big-name acts, is no guarantee of a spot on the show.
"We get lobbied by a bunch of artists," said Toffler. "We're quite selective about who ultimately gets to do an 'Unplugged.'"
"Unplugged's" striped-down approach suits the hard-to-classify, Grammy-winning folk duo The Civil Wars, who will appear on Vh1's "Unplugged" in May.
"We're kind of tailor-made for that," said the duo's John Paul White.
"We're already unplugged!" laughed his partner Joy Williams, who will be seven months pregnant when she tapes their episode of "Unplugged" slated for May.
"Growing up with the show, it's a strange full circle thing," said White. "We were talking about how big those 'Unplugged' shows were for us, to see our favorite artists in a different, more humanizing light."
Last year "Unplugged" expanded to include CMT, opening the series to country artists. Dierks Bentley, whose single "Home" is nominated for Song of the Year at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards, will follow The Civil Wars, with an episode of "CMT Unplugged" to air this spring.
"I love breaking my songs back down to their original acoustic foundation," said Bentley. "When I write these songs by myself or with friends, we just use acoustic guitars so, it's fun to sometimes go back to just the simple groove and idea you had to begin with."
Toffler believes simplicity and rawness are the keys to "Unplugged's" lasting appeal. "Either you've got the chops in talent or you don't, and 'Unplugged' is not going to hide any blemishes in your capabilities," said Toffler.

Lily Collins Fits To Play Fairytale In The Classic Snow White Tale "Mirror Mirror"

With her dark eyes, dark hair and pale skin, actress Lily Collins certainly fits the bill to play 'the fairest of them all' in the new retelling of classic Snow White tale in the upcoming film, "Mirror Mirror."
The movie, which comes out on Friday, sees an exiled Snow White teaming with seven rebel dwarfs and one prince (Armie Hammer) to defeat an evil Queen (Julia Roberts), take back her kingdom and restore it to its former glory before Snow White's father died.
Yet the 23-year-old Collins, whose previous acting credits include playing Sandra Bullock's daughter in "The Blind Side" and Taylor Lautner's love interest in "Abduction," learned she had a lot more in common with Snow than just looks.
"I feel like Snow and my experience paralleled a lot during the shoot," Collins told Reporters. "At the beginning of the story, she's very wide-eyed, innocent and unsure of what's happening. I started out very wide-eyed and excited, but unsure of what was going on."
As the "Mirror Mirror" story progresses, Snow White learns to stand up to her evil step-mother and fight for her rights when she becomes part of the dwarves' army.
Collins said she also became a fighter, both emotionally and physically, during the shoot and pre-production as she learned about the acting craft and studied fencing and sword fighting.
Snow White blossoms into a young woman who embraces life and love and believes in herself, leading to a deeper understanding of the world around her.
"I too became more open to living life to the fullest and believing that you can put your mind to doing anything and really accomplish it. I left a very inspired young woman based on what I learned as Snow," Collins said.
Not that Collins needed much inspiration in the performing arts, anyway because showbiz already runs in her veins. Her father is Grammy and Oscar-winning British musician Phil Collins of Genesis fame. Although the younger Collins was born in the U.K., her parents divorced when she was five, and she moved to Los Angeles with her mother, where she grew up.
In at least one way, "Mirror Mirror" proves that Collins is indeed her father's daughter. A Bollywood-style song and dance sequence during the end credits of the film showcases her singing talents.
"I didn't tell my dad I was singing in the movie because I wanted to shock him by playing him the song," said Collins. "He loved it! He made me replay it a couple times because he didn't believe it was me!"
Although Collins enjoys singing, she is not looking to pursue a career in music, saying that at the moment, "my heart and soul is in acting."
But that wasn't always the case. As a teenager, journalism was her passion. She was published in Elle Girl and Seventeen magazines and in 2008, she worked as a journalist for kids network Nickelodeon, covering the U.S. presidential campaign.
She went on to begin studying broadcast journalism and communication at the University of Southern California, but she had to decide between school and acting when she found herself shooting "The Blind Side" in Atlanta and flying back to L.A. for exams. She has since deferred her schooling but plans on returning.
"That was grueling," said Collins, "but it was worth it because I was able to finish the semester. When I do go back, I want to be there fully and not think about what time I need to be at my next audition."
No matter what happens with school, Collins said she'll always be a journalist even as her acting career grows.
"Journalism is something I've always loved and continue to use everyday," she confessed. "I'm a genuinely interested person. I carry a notebook. I ask questions, and I'm social. In learning about character traits for roles, it's the best way to do research. So I'm still going to be a journalist at heart."

Drug Quota Allotment Scam Worth Rs 7 Bn Allegedly Involving PM's Son

A “drug quota allotment” scam worth Rs7 billion, allegedly involving prime minister’s son, has come to fore, a private News channel reported on Thursday.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, heard the case against Ministry of Health's illegally allotting a quota of a bronchodilator drug “ephedrine” worth Rs7 billion to two Multan-based companies.
The case was filed by Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to bring the culprits to the task.
The petitioner's lawyer, Abid Zulfiqar, pled before the honorable court that his client wanted to withdraw the case urging the bench to dispose it of as soon as possible.
This sudden change of stance raised the eyebrows of the Chief Justice, who couldn’t help asking the ANF’s counselor as to what was stopping the Anti-Narcotics Force from pursuing the case. To which he revealed that ANF was under extreme pressure regarding its investigation into the health ministry's violations of rules, while awarding a quota of 9,000-kilogram ephedrine drastically exceeding the legal limit of 500 kilograms.
He disclosed that one "Tauqeer Ali Shah" who claimed himself to be the secretary of PM Gilani’s son Ali Musa Gilani had been pressurizing the ANF to sweep the case under the carpet. In the line of duty, the ANF also tried to summon Ali Musa Gilani on March 12, but to no avail, he said.
In addition to that, ANF commander, Brig Fahim Chaudhry told the court that it was Secretary Anti-Narcotics Department, Zafar Abbas, who put a full stop to our investigation by writing to us that an important political personality was not happy with the probe.
Upon hearing all the details the court asked the ANF chief if he was afraid of the "VVIP" who was none other than Ali Musa Gilani and wanted to backtrack on this sensitive issue.
Brig Chaudhry, drawing strength from Chief Justice’s encouragement, told the court that his department would push the case ahead till its logical conclusion.
Supreme Court, later, summoning all the parties, adjourned the hearing till April 20.
It is worth mentioning that Ephedrine is a stimulant and a thermogenic and comes from the herb known as Ephedra. It is commonly used as a stimulant, appetite suppressant, concentration aid, decongestant, and to treat hypotension associated with anesthesia.
Ephedrine stimulates the brain, increases the heart rate, increases blood pressure, expands bronchial tubes, increases metabolism, and increases body heat. Because of the effects of ephedrine, it is a commonly abused drug. Oftentimes, people do not realize the harmful effects of ephedrine and continue to use and abuse it; eventually they will develop an addiction. Ephedrine is one of the most popular stimulants that is abused and leads to an addiction very quickly.

Astronomers Think That There May Be Billions Of Habitable Planets In The Galaxy

Astronomers hunting for rocky planets with the right temperature to support life estimate there may be tens of billions of them in our galaxy alone.
A European team said on Wednesday that about 40 percent of red dwarf stars the most common type in the Milky Way have a so-called “super-Earth” planet orbiting in a habitable zone that would allow water to flow on the surface. Since there are around 160 billion red dwarfs in the Milky Way, the number of worlds that are potentially warm enough and wet enough to support life is enormous. Xavier Bonfils of the Institute of Planetology and Astrophysics in Grenoble, the leader of the team, said the 40 percent figure was at the high end of what had been expected and the finding underscored the prevalence of small rocky planets. His team is the first to calculate the number of super-Earths - planets with a mass between one and 10 times the Earth in such habitable zones, although previous research has found the Milky Way to be awash with planets.
Red dwarfs, which are faint and cool compared to the Sun, account for around 80 percent of the stars in the Milky Way.
After studying 102 of these stars in the southern skies using a European Southern Observatory telescope in Chile, Bonfils and colleagues found rocky planets were far more common than massive gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn in our solar system.
However, the rocky worlds spinning around red dwarfs are not necessarily cosy places for alien forms of life.
Because reds dwarfs are much cooler than the sun, any planets with liquid water will need to be orbiting much closer to the star than the Earth is from the Sun. That may mean they are bathed in damaging X-ray and ultraviolet radiation.
Scientists aim to take a closer look at some of the Earth-like planets as they pass in front of nearby red dwarfs, which should yield information about their atmospheres and help in the search for possible signs of life.
The research was presented in a paper to be published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics.

Printerd Memory Technique

In Norway The company ASA that manufactures printed memory "thin film electronics" for electronic appliances has developed such a transparent sticker of Carbon compound which can save the data printed matter on permanent basis with the help of circuit and transistor. This sticker can be activated by pasting on any card, leveled or semi circled surface. Ace Experts presented Hiss Pop completely compatible to multi media with the help of "printing memory technique" during exhibition of electronic appliances Exploratorium in San Fransisco on March 2.
The creator of the game are Ken Eklun and Sani Thacher. Card called Thinfilm memory does not lose memory even if power break down ocurres. Printing memory technique on layer of thinfilm made of polymer material has set record in in the exhibition of popularity. According to experts kids toys, video games, sensor's apparatus and identity system could be improved more.

Katrina Kaif's Role In Dhom 3 Is That Of A Gymnast

After dabbling in action in the yet-to-release Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan, actress Katrina Kaif will prepare for another action innings, and this time it would be for Dhoom 3.

The pretty girl will be seen in a role of a gymnast in the film, and to go by the reports, her action scenes in the film are almost at par with that of her co-star Aamir Khan. Being a stickler for perfection, Katrina Kaif is hell-bent to get it right and thus has hired an international fitness instructor to help her train for Dhoom 3.
Currently the trainer is with her in London, where she is shooting for her film with Shahrukh Khan. She reportedly trains for two hours every day to strengthen her core muscles and increase stamina and agility. She will be training for four months, post which Dhoom 3 goes on the floors.

Spanish Court Dropped A Probe Of Sexual Assault Against Saudi Prince

A Spanish court has dropped a probe into allegations a Saudi billionaire prince raped a model on a yacht in Ibiza three years ago be suspended, according to a ruling seen.
The case concerns Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a nephew of King Abdullah and one of world's richest men, who is being asked to respond to a complaint of sexual assault against him in August 2008 by a model who was 20 at the time.
The 57-year-old has denied the allegations. He has said he was nowhere near Ibiza at the time.
A provincial court on Palma de Majorca, the capital of the Balearic Islands, on Monday ordered a stay of proceedings in the case due to the "contradictions and vagueness" of the alleged victim's testimony, the court ruling said.
"In light of recent statements by the complainant, we cannot firmly establish with evidence what happened overnight August 11-12, 2008, on the yacht," it added.
A judge in Ibiza in May 2010 ordered the case to be closed for lack of evidence. But courts later reopened the case and asked the Saudi authorities to take a statement from the accused.
Spanish law firm Oliva Ayala which represents the prince said in a statement that he was mulling legal action against the woman for "making false accusations" against him.
"This has been a grave injustice to His Royal Highness. For this, he has asked our firm to study how to proceed in order to protect other innocent people from facing similar attacks" it said.
The latest ruling "confirms what we have said all along, which is that the allegations against Prince Alwaleed were not only false and outrageous but also impossible as he was not in Spain at the time but was in France with his wife, children, grandchildren and in the presence of dozens of witnesses," it added.
The woman, who has not been named by the court, believes her drink was spiked with a drug in a nightclub on Ibiza after she met the prince.
"I didn't drink much, but I think there was something in my glass," she said in a text message at 5:12 am August 13, after waking up in a bedroom of a luxury yacht, the "Turama", of the Saudi royal family, according to testimony from a witness, Benedicto Moreno Venecia.
When she awoke she said "she felt the weight of a man on top of her who was kissing her and a strong pain in the genital region," according to a court ruling that reopened the case in May 2010.
The prince has holdings in Citibank, Twitter and Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. Forbes magazine lists him as the 29th richest person in the world with a net worth of $18 billion (13.5 billion euros).

Indian Army Chief Said That Country's Security Was At Risk

In a fresh blow to the government, Indian Army chief General VK Singh has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh warning that the country's security is at risk.
According to an Indian TV channel, the letter written on March 12, 2012 states that army tanks have run out of ammunition. The letter emphasizes the need to bridge the shortcomings and bring the army to fighting level.
Sources said that in his letter VK Singh has termed 97% of the air defence obsolete. Singh has also said that the elite special forces are woefully short of weapons.
The letter said Air defence doesn't give deemed confidence to protect; Infantry is crippled with 'deficiencies of crew served weapon' and lacks night fighting capabilities while there are large scale voids in critical surveillance.
The Army chief has been in news this week for his claims of being offered a bribery of Rs 14 crore to clear a tranche of sub-standard equipment for the army. The CBI is likely to record his statement in this regard on March 30, 2012.
Defence minister AK Antony has said that Army chief VK Singh had told him that a bribe of 14 crore was offered by an equipment middleman but Singh didn't want to pursue the case. Responding to the furor in Parliament over the issue, Antony named Lieutenant General (retd) Tejinder Singh as the person named by General Singh. "I have always said the truth. When General VK Singh told me about the incident, I was shocked. The Army chief told me it was Tejinder Singh who offered him the bribe but he said he doesn't want to pursue it," Antony said.
In his defence, Antony said that once news report on the alleged bribe offer was made public, he ordered an inquiry, even though there was no formal complaint. "I immediately told the defence secretary to take action without waiting for any formal complaint.
This was the action I took. CBI will inquire into everything," Antony said. The announcement of a CBI probe on Monday had led to an uproar in Parliament, as members felt that the minister should have taken Parliament, which is in session, into confidence before announcing the probe.
About letter to the prime minister, Anthony said Wednesday the government would respond at an appropriate time minister. He conceded that there are gaps in the capabilities of armed forces and efforts are on to bridge these quickly.

"Titanic" Director Hit The Red Carpet For Launching Oscar-winning Film's 3D Version

"Titanic" director James Cameron hit the red carpet in London on Tuesday for the launch of the Oscar-winning film's 3D version, as the 100th anniversary of the legendary ship's sinking approaches.
The US filmmaker jetted into the British capital fresh from his seven-mile (11.2 kilometre) submarine dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the ocean's deepest point.
He was joined on the red carpet by the film's British star Kate Winslet and US actor Billy Zane for the premiere at the Royal Albert Hall.
"The 3D enriches all of Titanic's most thrilling moments and its most emotional moments," Cameron said on the red carpet.
"More than ever, you feel you're right there going through all the jeopardy that Jack and Rose go through," he added, referring to the film's two main characters, played by Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Cameron dived the wreck 12 times before filming the original, saying it "had a huge impact" on the end result. "We shot the real wreck, we didn't just build models of it," he explained.
He said he had told set-builders: "It's got to be exactly like you went back in a time machine and you were on the deck of the Titanic."
The director of smash-hit sci-fi adventure "Avatar" completed his dive of the Mariana Trench, about 200 miles southwest of the Pacific island of Guam, on Sunday morning local time, and revealed it had given him fresh inspiration.
In "Titanic", Winslet played socialite Rose DeWitt Bukater alongside DiCaprio as male lead Jack Dawson, in a dramatisation of the real-life maritime disaster that claimed more than 1,000 lives.
The biggest, most ambitious ship of the age hit an iceberg on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic Ocean from Southampton to New York, sinking on April 15, 1912.
The new release comes 15 years after the original. The film entered into movie history when it picked up 11 Oscars.
"It is a long time ago and it also feels like yesterday," Winslet told. "It completely changed my life and it gave me the opportunity to make creative choices.
"It's really great to celebrate it all over again. It's a very different experience, you really do feel as though you're on the boat, the water rushing round you," she added.
The Oscar-winning actress admitted that viewing her younger self would be "weird".
"It is like being forced to go through a photo album of your former self for three and a half hours solidly.
"I haven't seen the whole film in a very long time, I've seen little pieces of it, but it's a whole different me and we look much younger and our acting was different, hopefully not as good as now."
DiCaprio had been unable to attend the event because of work commitments, Winslet said.

American-Muslim Journalist Dismissed After Referring To Israel's Brutalities

A senior American-Muslim journalist, working for a public radio in Baltimore, has been dismissed after referring to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian and Syrian territories as “brutal,” according to media reports.
Sunni Khalid, managing news editor at “WYPR-FM”, was dropped by the station last week after more than nine years on the job, The Baltimore Sun reported over the weekend.
He had been on probation following criticism of comments he made on Facebook about Israel’s continued illegal occupation of Palestine. “I, for one, have had enough of this pandering before the Israeli regime,” he wrote. “The war-mongering toward Iran has, once again, distracted the world from Israel’s brutal military occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights.”
Khalid, who previously worked for National Public Radio, has also written for Time Magazine, The Washington Times, and USA Today.
Israel maintains a siege of Gaza and a military occupation in the West Bank, with devastating consequences for the indigenous Palestinian population.
Various Rights groups, including Amnesty International, and some United Nations experts have repeatedly condemned rights abuses against Palestinians.
