Lyari Situation Worsened In Kaeachi, Rangers Have Been Deployed

A large contingent of the Rangers has been deployed in Lyari to control the deteriorating security situation following protests against a police operation.
Clashes between protestors and residents of Lyari continued for the fourth consecutive day on Friday.
The clashes took place as law enforcers launched an operation against criminal elements in the Lyari area by the police in assistance with the Frontier Constabulary.
Lee Market Chowk looked like a battlefield as protesters damaged an armored vehicle as they hurled a petrol bomb on it. The ensuing fire engulfed a nearby shop.
Rangers personnel are removing rubble with the help of bulldozers. Police has detained 10 suspects during the operation.
The hardest hit areas included Lee Market, Daryabad, Nayabad and others.
