If Convicted PM Will Not Be Sentenced For More Than 6 Months In Jail---Aitzaz

Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani’s counsel in the “contempt of court case”, Wednesday said that his client, if convicted, would not be sentenced for more than six months in jail, a private News channel reported.
Talking to media in the premises of Supreme Court of Pakistan, he said that he had put before the court some very strong reservations, which the bench was bound to look into.
He said that according to the interim order of January 10, the Prime Minister could be disqualified for five years, but he hoped that the honorable court would revise this part of its earlier ruling.
To a question, he said that with the advent of Article 10 in the constitution, a vital change has come to pass in the law, which would make fair trial every citizen’s basic right.
