Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) Scandal In France








A French court has ordered German Company to pay compensation to hunders of women who were fite with defective breast implants. RUV Rheinland, which awarded EU certificate to German Implant manufacturers "neglected the duties of vegilence". the court said. Poly Implant Prosthese was shut down in March 2010 amidst worldwide health scare. The comapany use sub-standard silicon gels, causing many implants to rupture. The plaintiffs in the civil case will be given an initial payment of 3,000 euros per victim for surgery to remove the implants. Jan Spivey, a British woman, who received PIP implants as a part of reconstructive surgery following breast cancer in 2010, said she was 'deloghted'with the ruling. The court hesard an emplyee in charge of the quality control had only cooking diploma, Another in charge of the lab had previously been trained as pastry chef.
