Government Is Sucking The Last Drop Of Blood Of Masses, If There Is Any Left

The food items of any kind are exempted from sales and other taxes throughout the world, but govenment of Pakistan has increased 2 % sales tax on biscuits, chocolates, sweets, cakes and toffees. The authorities who are 360 days on visits to Dubai, Europe and the US out of 365 days of the year do not learn lesson from the foreig trips. Nothing of the usable has been left that is not covered by 19 % sales tax. The costumer will have to pay additional 2 % sales tax on all electronics of domestic use like fridge, washing machines, iron, cooking range, microoven, telvision, tape recorders, fans, bulbs, telephone sets, gas heaters and gysers. Similarly, varnishes. paints, tyres and tubes, batteries, tyles, spring matises, auto paets and polish are also include on the list. Two percent value added tax will also be imposed on imported fabrics. Manufactures will be exmpted from printing retail prices on the packings. Though government had announced in the current year's budget to get sales tax at the retail sale price from the manufactureres on their products, however, on the pressure of chambers and industries government has imposed sales tax on the manufacturing cost again. Sources say with this step of government traders and businessmen will be benefitted and the sufferers will again be the consumers , the common man. This step was taken by the government under the agreement with IMF. The spokeperson of FBR denied sales tax increase first then after few hours confessed it.
