"Midnights Childrten" Film Based On Rushdi's Novel Approved By Indian Censor Board








Indian born film producer Mehta in Canada said that Indian Censor Board had passed his film "Midnights Children" based on Rushdi's novel, withpout censoring any part of it. He wrote on Twitter. This film will be released in the beginning of nexy year in India while, its premier will be held in Kerala in International Film festival. Producer had concen that it would not be allowed to be released in India as there were some criticism on Indra Gandhi. However, afterwards its release right were purchased by PVR for Indian cinema houses. It is recalled Mehta and Rushdi both are among the controversial persons in India. His book "Satanic Verses" is banned in India. He did not participate in Jaipur Litreture Festival held in January after death threat nor he could adress through video link. Deepa Mehta was not allowed to shoot his film "water" in northern Indian city of Banaras> He shot his film in Sri Lanka where Midnight Children was also shot.
