Selfie Of Miss Israel And Miss Lebanon Sparked Political Controversy

The Miss Universe pageant is supposed to be a display of international harmony and global unity in which representative from all corners of the world gather together in the name of peace. Unfortunately, the other 364 days of the year are filled with hatred strife and cnflict among the rival nations, and two young Miss Universe hopefuls are currently learning the hard way that some things are more important than the quest for sparkly tiara. The above photo was posted online by Miss Israel Dorom Matalon (far left). She shares the frame with several other contestants, including Miss Lebanon, Saly Griege (to Matalon's left). The bloody conflict between Israel and Lebanon has gone on for decades, so it is not hard to to see why a Lebanese television deemed controversial selfie inappropriate. Greige says she agrees that her image smiling next to Matalon was upsetting and she claims the controversial pic is the result of world's most ill-advised photobomb. " Since the first day of my arrival to the participants of Miss Universe, I was very cautious to avoid being in any photo or communication with Miss Israel." Griege said. "I was having a photo with Miss Japan, Miss Slovenia and myself, suddenly Miss Israel jumped in, took a selfie and posted it on social media".
