Major Events In Pakistan During May and June 2014








*-- May 2014:-- *-- May 07:- An alleged American FBI agent was arrested carrying ammunition while trying to board a flight which was in violation of Pakistan's anti-terror laws. *-- May 08:- A road side bomb blast near the Afghan border in North Waziristan killed eight Pakistani soldiers. *-- May 09:- Geo TV transmission was banned by the government. *-- May 21:--Pakistan air force fighter jets bombed suspected militant's hideouts in North Waziristan killing 60 of them and injuring another 30. *-- May 27:- A woman was stoned to death outside a courthouse by family members including her father, two brothers and fiancee for marrying a man she loved against the family wishes. *-- May 28:- A split emerged in Tehreek e Taliban after the Masood faction walked out saying that group leader's tactics were unislamic. *-- May 31:- Taliban insurgents from Afghanistan attacked a border post in the Bajuar tribal area, resulting in the deaths of 14 insurgents and one soldier. *-- June 2014:-- *-- June 04:- A suicide bomber detonated explosives near a military vehicle in Islamabad, killing five people. *-- June 05:- Pakistani police arrested multiple people involved in the stoning of farzana Parveen, bringing the total number of people in custody to 12. *-- June 06:- Ashiq Ullah Mehsud, a senior commander of Tehreek e Taliban was shot and killed by unknown asaailants, speculated to be from the splinter group, in the village Urmuz, North Waziristan. *-- June 08:--At least 24 people were killed when millitants attacked a bus carrying Shia pilgrims from Iran to Quetta, Balocjistan. *-- June 08:-- Gunmen attacked Jinnah airport Karachi resulting in at least 13 deaths leading all the flights from and from Karachi cancelled.
