Former Army Chief's "Indecision" Delayed Operation In NWA-- Athar Abbas
Former Pakistan army's spokesperson maj general (R) Athar Abbas has accused former army chief gen Ashfaq Parvez Kiani of being reluctant to launch a major military offensive against Taliban militant in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) despite military leadership's decision three years ago. The serious allegations against former army chief have been brought forward at the time when our army is continuing a decisive war against militants in NWA. The allegations show like Kiani kept the operation delayed due his personal reason and caused military a great loss and gave militants chance to get stronger. The former army chief must not remain silent on the occasion because these accusations are from any body else but the spokesperson of ISPR of his time. Why did he violated the rules of of army secrets. Did Athar Abbas has any personal grudge? may be he was not promoted to three star general and retired as two star? These allegations give rise to negative image of our brave army chief. This blame is not against Kiani but against the whole army. General Kiani must clarify his position and his decision, of course, he might have done in the best interest of the army and the nation. General Kiani personally was a peaceful and less talkative person, he did not any step against the worst government of that time and he continued making the positive image of Pak army. Nation hopes Kiani will answer the allegations by his own former general.
