Women Must Not Visit Male Doctor's Clinic Lonely--Saudi Religious Leader
A Saudi senior religious leader has condemned the women who visit the male doctor's clinic without their Mahram men. This statement was issued after the death of as university female student who had no Mahram (brother, father or husband) and medical staff was not allowed to enter the premises of the university to treat the girl. There are strict laws prevailing in Saudi Arabia against mixing of males and females. According to Daily 'Alhayat' Sheikh Qaisul Mubarak who is linke to senior Ulema council said women do not take care while visiting doctors, however, in an emergency women can show /open tat part of body to the doctor which is affected not the whole body. Sheikh Qaisul Mubarak said women should go the doctor when female doctor is not available if it happens so ten care must be taken that doctor and the patient must not be alone. It is noteworthy that during 2005, 15 girls student were burnt alive when their scholl was on fire and they were not allowed to get out without Abaya by religious police and civil defense workers were not allowed to save the girls. t
