Some Scientific Golden Talks Of Dr Ata Ur Rahman-1
Former chairman of Higher Education Commission and federal minister for Science Technology Dr Ata ur Rahman is basically professor of organic chemistry. His national and international services for the promotion of education and science and technology are commendable.He conducted research on the constituents of weeds and medicinal plants found in Pakistan and discovered 425 new natural constituents. Acknowledging his scientific services University of Cambridge awarded him the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Science (PhD) in 1987. He is the first Pakistani scientist who has been awarded this degree. He wrote and edited some 51 scietific books. He supervised the tesis of many Phd scolars. He is the only Pakistani scientist who has signed in the book where great scientists like Einstein and Neuton have signed. Dr Ata Ur Rahman has been been the Coordinator general of COMSTECH. Recently pakistani Pakistani Bio technologists have performed a marvallous job of preparing human genetic map and Dr Ata's complete genome was decoded. Recently after retirement, he has collected online free international courses with the permission of famous world educational institutions and put on a website under the name of "LEJ4" (Latif Ibrahim Jamal National Science Information Center). It is also called "LEJ. Knowledge Hub". This site provides courses for all sorts of education and on all levels. This dr Ata has done due to the scarcity of qualified and talented teachers and for the ease of students who can have easy access to any course they need. President of Pakistan has launched the online courses. Now Pakistan is the first country in the world that has prepared a search engine for the search of the world's best free online courses. From the online free courses of such standard educational institutions like MIT and Howard, the students not only in Pakistan but millions of students from other developing countries will be benefited. Dr Ata's other work is to promote Chinese language on university level for which courses for the 500 nominated students of different Universities of the country will learn Chinese language in first phase in Islamabad and at Confusiua Center Karachi from February 17, 2014. The purpose of the course is for the new generation to know about the development and progress of the world second economic super power of the world, the China. (Continued)
