The winter Olympics have started in "Sochi" city that is located on the coastal area of black sea in Russia. But here we are giving some interesting facts about Sochi that may not be known to many. *--1. The Winter Olympics are actually not being held in Sochi but are held in its two suberbern cities, Adler and Crisnaia Poliana. Adler is situated on he coast of sea while the later cities is located in the mountains. Extended to 90 miles, Sochi is the longest city in Europe. The Olympics are held on the place near to Abkhazia, which is a disputed territory located on eastern border, it considered itself an independent state. *--2. Sochi is a safe heaven for the homosexuals of the whole Russia. *--3. The only player belonging to Sochi who will participate in the Winter Olympics will be Elexi Viviyowada, who is a professional arm wrestler and was World Champion in 2011. *--4. The parents of world known tennis player Maria Sherapova, shifted to Sochi when she was only four years old. Though Sherapova shifted to American state Florida but her grand-mother still lives in Sochi. *--5. The largest Film Festival of Russia has been held in Sochi for the last two decades. This world dvent is called " Kanotawar".
