Governmemt Is Being Pressurized To Sign New Agreement For Exploration of Valuable Metals

The foreign company Tethayan Cooper wants a new agreement with the Government of Pakistan instead of the Government of Baluchistan, through the foreign sovereign guarantees. The old exploration agreement signed in 1993 will expire on February this year. Under the new agreement that has already been written, if any dispute or objection arises that could be only challenged in an American court. Government is being pressurized to extend the old agreement with the new one. Old agreement was signed under the Law of Govt of Pakistan, but according to the draft of new agreement under clause No 24, foreign guarantors have been made the part of it, the record of the foreign guarantees have been submitted to the supreme court. The advocate of the appellant of Recko Dek case, Raza Kazim told that the new agreement is being kept secret. Under the clause 41 of the agreement all the documents and, feasibility report of the Gold and Copper reservoirs of Recko Dek will be secret and no body would have access to it. Under the new agreement company would be empowered to take the raw material to any place any country and no name of any refinery has been mentioned. Govt of Pakistan would have no objection, if company wants to sell its right to any other company on its own discretion and on its own conditions. The estimated value of these reservoirs is more than $ 500 billions. This unique agreement would have never signed any where in the world. All the steps of this govt depend on ways of corruption and dishonesty. Pakistan has expertise in exploration and refining the metals. But who will give kick backs if Pakistani experts are engaged in the job. It is pity that every corruption case has to hared by the super court. Are the courts for this purpose.? But they are forced to do it and stop the looting of national money. Pity on the part of our wealthy country and poor common people.
