Several Non-Porn Sites Have Also Been Included In The Restricted List By PTA

In a move that is likely to reignite debate over internet censorship in Pakistan, PTA has included many conventional and porn-free sites in its list of websites to be blocked as a part of its drive against pornography. The regulatory authority of telecom sector provided the list of 429,343 smutty and pornographic websites to Internet Service Providers, to be blocked. The renowned American Microblogging and a social networking site Tumbler.com is on the top of the list. The PTA list includes many non-objectionable websites that have no traces of pornography. Several photography, blogging and business websites have also been included in the list. For example, Susancarter.blogspot.com, a blog on iPad accessories and Lucyislawless.com, a website for wedding rings will also be blocked. The PTA should not include those sites in the list which they have to lift the blockage afterward, finding them clean. If this practice continued then PTA will have to ban every site and internet in Pakistan because no site is free of women's photos in half dressed poses, even TV channels ads come under the category of the PTA evaluation and inclusion of porn sites or photos.
