Visa Should Be Issued To Mansoor Ijaz

Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq said on Monday that the Pakistan High Commission (HC) in Britain has been instructed to issue Pakistan visa to Mansoor Ijaz, it was reported. He was talking to media during break in the memogate case hearing here at Islamabad High Court (IHC).
During break, Maulvi Anwarul Haq told the reporters that Pakistan High Commission has been instructed to issue visa to Mansoor Ijaz as soon as his application is received.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court (BHC) Justice Qazi Faiz Isa was hearing the memo case today.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif, former ambassador to US Husain Haqqani and Mansoor Ijaz’s counsel Akram Shaikh were present in the hearing.
Haqqani told that he needed government’s permission to submit his official Blackberry mobile phone to the commission and also asked Mansoor Ijaz to prove the link between Blackberry communication and the memo.
Mansoor Ijaz had also written a letter to the commission in which he said he was ready to visit Pakistan and requested for provision of complete security to him and the evidence he would be in possession of. However, his lawyer Akram Shaikh told that his client was not given the visa to visit Pakistan.
The commission then instructed Attorney General Mualvi Anwarul Haq to issue visa to Ijaz on urgent basis and ensure his security while the commission has also asked to provide additional security to Husain Haqqani.
On the other hand, Army Chief General Kayani has informed the commission in writing that he would not be able to appear before the commission as he is on official visit to China.
Strict security measures were taken for the hearing.
The memogate commission formed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan is investigating into the issue of memo that was handed over to Mike Mullen through US businessman of Pakistan origin Mansoor Ijaz allegedly on behalf of Pakistan government.
