Saudi Arabia Is Inclined To Benefit From Solar Energy

The biggest oil reserves of the world are in Saudi Arabia, but solar energy has diverted its attention to take advantage of it. Though in the past Saudi government has been discouraging all other alternate sources of energy because if these were promoted then its oil income would have decreased. Saudi government fulfills its 90 % of the expenses from oil income. But now now government has decided to install solar energy plants in the country.
Actually the oil reserves are decreasing quickly, as its power houses consume 0.8 million barrel oil daily to produce electricity. At present 45000 megawatts electricity is produced while its demand by 2030 will reach to 0.12 million megawatts. It is clear that till then it will not be possible to fulfill the demand by producing electricity by oil.
Where Allah has gifted Saudi Arabia with oil wealth it has also solar wealth too. According to an estimate every square meter of land in Saudia receives so much sunlight that it is possible to get 7000 megawatts electricity from it. It is because Saudi Arabia is situated exactly in the center of solar strip. Then there is no shortage of sand one constituent of it is used for making silicone, solar cells, panels ans semi-conductors. So Saudi Arabia has all the material for installing solar power houses.
Saudi government is also realizing the risk of pollution in the aerial, water and ground environment due to oil refineries and explorations.
Saudi government has allocated $100 billion to construct new power houses by 2030. Out of these 20 power houses will work by solar energy. So by 2030 , 18000 megawatts electricity will be that through solar energy.
Other Arabian states are also following Saudi Arabia in this regard . Among them Dubai and Abu Dhabi states of United Arab Emirates are on the top. Recently in Dubai construction work on a one thousand megawatts solar power house was inaugurated, that will be constructed in stages by 2030 with a cost of $ 12 Billion. Similarly Abu Dhabi has also started work on 100 megawatts solar power station.
