Corruption Scandal In Federal Urdu University Islamabad
A university official has disclosed corruption of Rs. 150 million in one of the largest educational Insitutions of Pakistan, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST). An official of the University, whose name is still undisclosed, sent a letter to President of Pakistan alleging corruption of Rs 150 million through 'secret account' in Urdu University's Islamabad campus. He appealed to president Mamnoon Hussain to take notice of the million worthy corruption in the university and accused most of the senior officials of the varsity including vice chancellor and treasurer. He claimed that Rs 150 million were transferred to a secret bank account in July 2013, while the secret bank account was opened with the assistance of vice chancellor and the campus' treasurer. It is worth mentioning here that FUUAST is renowned for its wide range of academic programs in undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral studies in its two satellite campuses in Karachi and Islamabad.
