The Positively Changing Attitude Of Russia For Pakistan

In the past Pakistan helped China in several hard times. Therefore, Chinese view Pakistan with respect and considers Pakistan its ever-green friend. So, Pak-China friendship is beyond any doubt. But, the relations between Pakistan and Russia have seen many ups and downs. Specially, when Russia attacked Afghanistan in 1979, cold war began between both the countries, as Pakistan stood with the USA against the then USSR. But today globally changing events are bringing both the countries nearer.
Actually Russia is also annoyed from the double game of the USA. On one side Barack Obama is inclined to ward friendship with Russia while, on other side it is implementing " Global Missile Defense System" with NATO partnership. Russia is offended with this program and considers it a threat for its integrity. Russia says if this program is fully implemented then it will also install its latest ballistic missiles facing Europe and the USA.
Meanwhile, American politicians have dragged Russia into their election compaign. The expected Republican presidential candidate Romney has termed Russia a " non-sustainable world power" and " Geographically and politically No 1 enemy power" and said that after coming in power he will quit the Obama's policy of friendship with Russia. Thus, the dual faced Americans have compelled Russia to defend its nation, interests and country. Therefore Russia wants the Central Asian and Eastern European countries including China together constitute an economic and military block to face the challenge of dictatorship of the USA and NATO.
Russia looks Pakistan as an important country for the solution of Afghan issues that can not be solved without its cooperation. Pakistan and Afghanistan have 2400 miles long common border and then the people of both countries are linked to each other regarding culture, traditions and religion relations. Therefor, Russia wants to be close to Pakistan and for strengthening mutual relations, Russian president Putin is going to visit Pakistan in September. This will be the first visit of its kind of any Russian president. This visit is keenly awaited by the world.
