Rape Victim In Iran Has Been Sentenced To Death
Court has delayed capital punishment of an Iranian rape victim for 10 days. According to Arab News Agency, Iranian woman was going to be hanged after killing a man. The former decorator was alleged of stabbing Murtaza Andul Ali Sarbandi, a former employee of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence. Twenty-six year old Miss Keyhaneh Jabbari was sentenced to death by a criminal court in Tehran 2009, after what Amnesty International called "a deeply flawed investigation and trial which failed to examine all of the evidences." According to source, former decorator stabbed Murtaza, who she claimed lured her to his house with a promise to give her work and tried to sexually assault her. Jabbari told her mother that she was currently handcuffed and there was a car waiting outside to take her for the execution of the sentence. Goodbye dear Mom, all of my pains will finish tomorrow morning. There are concerns the way the case was handled by Iranian authorities. Amnesty reports she was in solitary confinement for two months where she did not have access to a lawyer or her family.
