Rehman Malik Says BeNazir's Assassins Have Been Arrested

Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday said that the assassins of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto had been arrested and the facts of the case would be made public soon.
He said this while talking to media persons after the inauguration ceremony of a passport office in Gujjar Khan, the home town of Sayeeda Warsi, British Minister and Chairperson of UK’s Conservative Party. ‘We have all the information about the assassins of Benazir Bhutto regarding where they came from, the car they used, where they stayed and where the plot was hatched,’ he said, adding that the investigation report about the assassination of Benazir would be first presented before the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of PPP and the decision to make it public or not would be taken by the CEC.
Malik said that the government had fulfilled the promise made to the masses to arrest the killers of Benazir Bhutto. He said that the terrorist who was arrested while plotting to carry out an attack during the World Cup match was of Maldives origin and seven-member terrorists group had also been busted on the information of that accused. However, he made it clear that this network was operating from Afghanistan and not from Pakistani territory. ‘These terrorists had links with some militants of Northern Areas’, Rehman Malik added.
