Cayman Islands---Another British Overseas Territory








*-- Cayman Islands:-- Situtated toward west of Carribean Sea, this island is an important center of trade in the region. Chritopher Clombus discovered this island. Under Madrid Accord during 1670, this island which has a total polulation of 55,000, was made the colony of Britain for the settlement of slaves. Forty percent of the population consists of European and remaining are Africans. Facing sea storms all the time this islands was recognized as British Ovrseas Teritory under the constitution in 1962. The female prime minister O'Conner- Conolly Juliana is head of the government of island but British Queen is the guardian. The prime ministr is acconyable to Mark Simmond British member Parliament. *-- Falkland Islands:-- Being the cause of war between Britain and Argentina in 1982, is situated in the South of Atlantic Ocean, 400 kilometers away from Argentina. This island is under the British Croqn since 1833, while Falkland was declared as British Overseas Territory in 2009 under the constitution. The total area of the island is 12,200 square kilometers while population is only 2,800. The Cayman islands are cositing of 770 islands in addityion to eastern and western islands. The head of the island is Nigel Haywood whi is accountible to British parliamentarian Hugo Swire. Sixty-one percent of the population is composeof ancestral individuala while 29 % are Britishers. *-- Gibralter:-- Gibralter is the English name for an Arabic Word Jabal Ul Tariq (The Mountain Of Tariq). The name of Tariq bin Ziad, a famous Muslim Commander in Chief is recalled with the name of Jabal Ul Tariq who founded Islam reign from this place. Spain had handed over Jibralter to Britain dring "Spain War" in 1713 under 'Treaty of Utrecht'. Conflicts usually prevail for the occupation of the territory beteween Spain and Britain. However, during a refrendum held in 1967, the people of Jibralter favored Britain through voting. Now, government affairs are run ubder the guardianship of British Queen. The area of the island is 6.8 square kilometer, while population is 28,000. The head of the Jibralter is vice-admiral Adrian Johns who is accountable to British parliamentarian David Lidington. Its poppulation consists of 27 % Britains, 30 % Italians, 10 % Putagese, and others consist of Malayans, Indians and of other nations.
