Polling for D I khan PK-68 constituency for by-election continues, today. This constituency consists of Paharpur tehsil and a little more than half of the area of Paniala. In this constituency since long time the real contestants for the seats had been usually Makhdoom Mureed Kazim from Makhdoom family of Bilot) and Javed Akbar Khan the son of late Akbar Khan. Though Fazal Rahman's candidates contests election for the constituency seat but never succeeded. Either the seat goes to Mureed Kazim or Javed Akbar. Although Maulna Fazal Rahman belongs to this constituency (Aba Khel village of Paniala). This shows how much residents of his own ancestral area and village respect him. Even he himself can not get the seat nor for his brothers. He gives them ticket from Paroa constituency. This time though 18 candidates in the run for the seat but actual rivals are Makhdoom and Ehtesham Akbar Khan (Brother of Javed Akbar). He is contesting election on the ticket of PTI. Once Muhammad Akbar Khasn (late),the father of Javed Akbar Khan who used to be continously MPA from the area. Akbar Khan was the brother of retired commission Ghulam Sarwar Khan, who remained provincial minister for revenues. Ghulam Akbar Khan was the most "silent member" of the assembly. Either he used to sleep in the assembly or gossiping outside the assembly with drivers and common people. He was fond of pet bird Batair (Quail) that fights with other batairs like cocks. Akbar Khan used to enjoy Batair's fight outside the Assembly when the session was running. Now era has changed and their new generation is in the political ground.
