At least 92 women reportedly are raped every day in India, four in New Delhi. According to reports, the capital with 1,638 cases recorded the highest number of such crimes last year. The total number of rape cases reported in India went up to 33,717, in 2013 from 24,922 in 2012, according to figures released by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). In 15,558, cases the victims were aged between 18 to 30 years in 2013. Madhya Pradesh is followed by Rajastan, with 3,285 cases, Maharashtra with 3,063 and Uttar Pradesh with 3.053 rape cases. The data showed that 13,304 cases were reported in 2013 where victims were minor, which was 9,082 previous year. The offenders included parents in 539 cases, neighbours in 10,782 cases, relatives in 2,315 cases and other known persons in 18,171 such cases.
