Two Pakistani Transgenders Tortured And Killed In Saudi Arabia
Two transgender persons, hailing from Khyber Pakhtun Khaw died in Saudi Arabia after being subjected to torture by Saudi Police in Riyadh foor dressing up as women in public. Thirty-five transgender people were arrested by a law enforcement agency for cross dressing which is a punishable offence in Kingdom. A rest house was raided where a ' Guru Chela Chalan' gathering, a formal meeting of Khawaja Sara in which they choose their Guru (leader) and Chela (student) was taking place. Amna 35, belonging to Mingora area of Swat and Meeno 26, from Peshawar died in police custody. Police allegedly packed them in sacks and thrashed them with sticks in prison. Majority of them belonged to KPK and remaining were from other cities of Pakistan. No one came to rescue them as life of a transgender is of no value to anyone even not for Pakistani government. A transgender said that they were even not allowed to perform Umra or Hajj. He said Kaa'ba is not their property it is Allah's home and every Muslim has right to visit Haram Pak. He said they were not involved in any illegal activity police had to take them to court instead of thrashing them like animals, which was inhuman.
