In Pakistan Wpmen Face Various Forms Of Harassment On Internet

in Pakistan 40 percent of women face various forms of harassment on internet, with most complaints made related to harassment on facebook, it was reported by Digital Rights Foundation (DRF). Majority of the Internet user women in Pakistan have no awareness about cyber crime laws dealing with online harassment on Internet, including social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. The report reveals that 79 % of respondents use technological devices regularly, 48 percent own smartphones, while majority of 67 % use Facebook regularly. Identifying the issue of absence of women on public spaces, 35 % said they have put very little personal information on Internet, while 6 % say they have put a lot of information about them on Internet. Of the total respondents, 70 % said they are afraid of putting up their pictures on Internet fearing misuse of pictures.
