Uber cellular Taxi Service Has Been banned In Three Countries
US cellular app based taxi service, Uber is facing quite tough time as the organisation received back-to-back ban notices in three countries including India, Thailand and Spain. Uber operations were banned by a Spanish judge in a statement after ruling a lawsuit "lack the administrative authorisation to carry out the job, and the activity they carry out constitutes an unfair competition." The verdict emerged after strong protest carried out by the Madrid Taxi Association who challenged Uber's 'unauthorised drivers' and 'unfair' competition in the court. Thailand also took strict measures against Uber's taxi services as its land transport department restricted Uber's Technologies Corp to use private cars in its smartphone- app-based booking service. The country sought larger fines against the drivers running the service. Uber was strictly directed to comply with the department's regulations of the country if willing to continue the service. Earlier on December 8, Indian authorities in New Delhi banned the Uber Taxi services after alleged rape of a female passenger by the driver. The 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her booked taxi driver after she was taken to a secluded area.
