A judge of Islamabad accountability court, Muhammad Bashir today, after hearing, rejected former president Zardari's application for aquittal in SGC and Contecna cases against him. It is worth mentioning here that SCS and Contecna references were filed in 1997 against Asif Ali Zardari and former prime minister Be Nazir Bhutto, on the charges of receiving kickbacks in pre-shipment contract between government and SGS. All accused persons were absolved except Zardari. The court while rejecting the plea directed proceeding on the National Accountability Bureau references.
