Election Commission Barred Musharraf From Polls in Kasur Constituency
Pakistan's Election board barred on former president Musharraf fromcontesting pools from Kasur, Gujrat constituency, and supreme court has agreed to look into a treason complaint against him. Former presidentreturned home after four-years last month of self imposed exile to contest May 11 elections, despite the possibility of arrest on many charges and death threats from Pakistani Taliban. Election Commission sources said he could face disqualification from other three constituencies. The official said the decision was based on a cluse 62 and 63 in the constitution which requires candidate of a good character and fact is that he had not decared all of his assets. A petetion which will be heard by the supreme court on Monday acuses Musharraf of committing treason when he sacked senior judges and declared emergency rule while in power.
