Release Of Davis Was Pre-Planned
The so simple release of CIA contractor Raymond Allen Davis on Wednesday that shook the entire nation and sparked countrywide protests was pre-planned and the handiwork of those who matters in both the countries, sources privy to the development said.
Sources revealed that Washington agreed to pursue Raymond case before the Pakistani court after Islamabad had suggested that the payment of ‘blood money’ to the families of the victims was the only and best solution under present circumstances.
Authorities took no time to get Davis released since Pakistan’s ISI and American CIA reached an agreement to clear the dust in an attempt to safeguard strategic partnership between the war-time allies.
Davis release has also cleared the way for strategic dialogue scheduled for next month between the two countries as the Pakistani authorities were also eager to resolve the issue as early as possible. The Obama administration was also pressing President Asif Ali Zardari to release Raymond Davis at all costs and before the next month meetings between key Pakistani officials and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’, an official familiar with the development said, requesting his name not to be mentioned. Well-placed sources in the government and security establishment disclosed to the reporter that ‘the security agencies and the government (both Federal and provincial) were on the same page as far as the decision on the fate of US killer is concerned.
According to official sources, some intelligence operatives shifted heirs of the victims of Davis shooting to some unknown location on Sunday night.
The security officials took them into confidence and helped strike the deal, source said, adding, they (heirs) were also eager to accept the blood money.
