Mansoo Ijaz Refused To Appear Before The Commission On January 09

Refusing to appear before the commission on January 09, Mansoor Ijaz has written a letter to the commission consisting of 19 conditions. According to media reports Ijaz wrote that he can come to Pakistan for 1 or 2 days after January 15. He said that he would get his statement recoded in Britain prior to coming to Pakistan. He asked for written guarantee from government of Pakistan and the commission to protect his and his family lives, because he is being threatened from different quarters. He said tat a written agreement be done for the security of the record he would bring to Pakistan. He also sought assurance to stop government interference.
According to SANA news Ijaz said if the parliamentary meeting is in session during his presence in Pakistan then he could think of appearing before the committee. However, he said he did not decided finally for this. He said that it should be guaranteed in writing by the judges of the memo commission that his documentary proofs and telephonic record will neither be snatched nor stolen. He further said that memo commission should ensure non-interference of the political government elements. He said if his all conditions were accepted then he could think of appearing before the memo commission after January 15. He said that he could not stay more in Pakistan due to risk to his life and his statement be recorded as he comes to Pakistan and his arrival and departure timings be kept secret from media. He also wrote in the letter that he would not hand over his passport for visa to Pakistan Embassy in Washington but his visa should be issued from a country outside the USA and his family member's lives security be assured officially. He disclosed that the Pin Code number of the Blackberry that Hussain Haqqani had been using since October 28 October to November 04 is 21A5EC74. While the pin code number of the earlier Blackberry he had been sending messages through from May 09 to May 12 was 2326A31D.
Reports saythat Ijaz agreed to give the commission the numbers of blackberry through which Hussain Haqqani has been contacting him. The counsel Akram Sheikh of Ijaz has submitted an application to the secretary of investigation commission. According to online, expressing his reaction on the alleged letter, Zahid Bukhari said that Ijaz was lier and he was searching ways to flee. According to INP, Akram Sheikh said that Ijaz will come to Pakistan on the assurance of security, because Ijaz is not the favorite of establishment so he wanted assurance. Zahid Bukhari said the conditions presented by Ijaz were the excuse for not coming to Pakistan, if the Ijaz could not provide the proofs then Haqqani will not be held responsible.
