Neil Armstrong-- First Human Being To Step On Moon
Taking birth on August 05, 1930, Neil Armstrong was the first American Astronaut walked on the moon and history preserved his first step on moon for ever.He graduated in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University of Indiana. Then he got Master's degree in Aerospace from Engineering University of Southern Carolina. He joined NASA in 1962. In 1986 a team of Astronauts in his leadership had the first space travel. He was the first civilian American who had the honor of being astronaut. Armstrong traveled to moon that was his second and last round of space on July 20, 1969, He stayed and walked on moon accompanied by Brandrein for two and a half hour.
When he stepped down on the surface of moon, he said, " A small step of a human being is a long jump for humanity", the words he uttered are now the permanent part of the history.
He was awarded presidential medals by presidents of the USA Richard Nichson and Jimmi Carter. Last year he was awarded the The USA's highest civil award "Congressional Gold Medal".
Neil was very much exited for Apollo program. His application was received one week after the fixed date for selection to the Apollo program. But due to the disappointing performance of the candidates on the exam held, Neil was called for for test on September 13, 1962. He was asked about his interest in the program, his reply was positive so he was selected as civilian pilot. When on July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong stepped down on moon, millions of people were watching him on TV.
He met Jenet Elizbeth Sheron in the Purdue University and they married in January, 1956. They have 3 children Erik, Karen and Marck. His wife wife suffered from brain tumor and died on January 28, 1962.
The life journey of moon traveler ended on August 25, 2012 in the age of 82. After returning from moon journey he kept away from functions, get togethers, Tv's, fame, media and avoided interviews. Why? A celebrity like Neil never avoids media. There are two reasons, that my dear audiences can read in the next post.
