Ron Galella--Paparazzi--- Ispite of Beaten And Facing Cases Did Not Retreat








"Paparazzi" is an Italian term in the field of photography.It is used for those photographers who chase celebrities and take the snaps of their private lives with out their knowledge. As these pictures are real and in natural pose and are shot with out awareness of the personality, so these are attractive and unique as compared to those in artificial pose. These pictures are sold in million of dollars, afterwards. The celebrities are always tired of Paparazzis and avoid their camera lens. Sometimes quarrels or bitter talks takes place between the guards of the celebrities and the matter may be challenged in the court. Paparazzi photographers are not salaried employees of any magazine or newspaper.
Some times paparazzi cause the most fatal accidents like that of Princess Dianna. Her driver was driving car on a high speed to avoid the photographers. The word of paparazzi came to the forefront in 1957 when the director Federico Fellini of an Italian film "La Dolce Vita" named a character ( News photographer) as "paparazo" in the movie. After the release of the film, all the photographers who attend functions as uninvited guests, chase the celebrities and shoot their pictures with out their permission were called Papa Razo that became Paparazzi in English after wards.In Chinese language Paparazzis are called "Puppy Squad".
Among the Paparazzis, the person who attained fame and wealth is Ron Galella. The American famous magazine "Newsweek" termed him the most extra ordinary Paparazzi while, Time and Vanity Fair magazines called him, " The Godfather of US Paparazzi Culture" He has also been the World's most controvertial photographer.
Ron Galella joined US Airforce during Korean War (1950-53) as a photographer and had been shooting war pics with the help of RollelFlex camera. After war got photo jpornalism degree from Air Senior College of Design of Los Angeles. He remained unemployed for some time and then suddenly he conceived the idea of working as a free Launce photographer and can earn money by shooting pictures of famous personalities because New York was home to many showbiz celebrities.
