Escape From Jail-- Some Unforgettable Events In The History








In the southern district Bannu of Khyber Pakhtoon Khaw province, on April 15, 2012, 250 armed Taliban got 384 prisoners released from central jail after an organized attack on the jail. The spokesman of defunct Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan accepted the responsibility. Among the prisoner was Adnan Rashid the person who was involved in attack on former president Parvez Musharraf. He was sentenced to death by the court. This was not the first ever event of escaping from jail, in the world several incidents like this had happened in the past. Let us have a look on some of those.
Charles Sobhraj:-
The most notorious serial killer Charles Sobhraj has been charged with many crimes of murders and looting the people, in 4 countries. The stories of his escapes from jails are known to most of the people. However, after each escape he had been arrested for committing another new crime. Now a days he is passing through a life imprisonment in Nepal jail.In 1970, he was arrested for looting a jewelery store located in Ashoka hotel in India. During imprisonment in Tahar jail, New Delhi, he escaped making lame excuse of sickness with the help of his wife. He was arrested in Afghanistan for looting two tourists. From Afghan jail he escaped making excuse of worsening condition of his ulcer. After escaping from the jail he reached to Turkey through Iran. His younger brother Andrese lived in Turkey. Both started looting tourists in Greece and Turkey. Both brothers were arrested by Greek police. Afterwards both brothers changed their identities with each other, as Andrese had no police record, so Charles used to get released with few days after committing crime. His all the life passed either in jail or running from one country to another.
Tunnel Made By Pakistani Prisoners In Indian Jail
During the Pak India war in 1971, 6 Pakistani officers belonging to 6th Punjab Regiment, Maj. Tariq Parvez, Lt Shahid Ullah Jan, Lt Shaukat Javed, Lt Jameel, Capt Noor A Q Khan and Maj Raja Nadir Parvez were arrested by Indian forces. They were kept in Fateh Garh army camp of Uttar Pradesh province. From where they escaped on September 17, 1972 and after hiding for 3 weeks, they succeeded to reach Pakistan. Among them, Raja Nadir Parvez, afterwards joined Muslim League and worked as minister against several portfolios. During imprisonment they conceived different plans but agreed on digging a tunnel for escape. They dug a 150 feet long tunnel with the help of kitchen knife and nail cutter. During digging the tunnel they faces the risks of snakes and scorpions but they continued their task and at last they escaped on the evening of September 17. They reached to Bombay through a boat and then to Pakistan.
