Vantage And Classiic Car Club Of Pakistan
The member of "Vantage Car Club of Pakistan" are transforming the old car mostly garaged or parked in open ground and neglected, into new form that run on the roads with new model cars. Changing the appearance and all other parts that are needed in the old cars to make them compete new ones, by the club means that they are returning our past to us in glorified manner. The founder and the chairman of the club Mr.Mohsin Ikram has a green car of 1954 model. This car was used by the US ambassador to Pakistan. Mohsin Ikram has 1947 model Lincoln Continental Cabrolat V 12 that belonged to former King Zahir Shah of Afghanistan. This car was brought to Pakistan during 1947 when Afghan Embassy was opened in Karachi. The cousin of Zahir Shah, Shah Wali Khan was appointed as Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan. Zahir Shah had purchased two Lincoln cars, and he sent one of them to Shah Wali in Karachi. Shah Wali sold this car to his student life Pakistani friend afte using the car for 5 years. His friend wanted to purchase the car earlier, Mohsin Ikram was also keeping his eyes on the car. After all, the car passing through many purchasers reached in the hands of Mr.Mohsin. He had purchased it for PKR 0.25 million some 15 years back. Another member of the club Mr. Karin Chapra has 1924 model Rolls Riece "Silver Ghost" which belonged to Nawab of Bahawalpur. Quad e Azam and Mount Baton had also traveled in this car. This car had been lying in the garage of Nawab for 46 years. Karim Chapra bought it in 2004 when the used items of Nawab of Bahawalpur were presented for auction.
