A Journey From The Armed Struggle To The Presidential Palace
She could guess at least that she will get success in her struggle for the rights of people around her, but she herself was not aware of the day she would be the president of an economically strong country. Taking birth on 14th of December 1947 in an average family of Kohlo Orezo in New Brazil is the lady naming Jelma Rosaif who is the president of Brazil now a days. The ancestral country of her father Jelma Jean De Silva was Gabrovo from where he migrated to Brazil in 1930. She received her primary education from The Colegio Izabela Hendrix and the colegio Nossa Senhora de Sion. During 1945 she left the schools of moderate people and got admitted in the educational institution "a co-ed" public school at the age of 15. In this school the student's tradition was to participate in anti-dictatorship activities. In this school she got awareness about the political situation of the country. Bearer of the Roman Catholic Ideology 21 years old Jelma Rosaif joined the army /fighter wing of the "National Liberation Command" that belonged to the communist organization. During 1964 she joined gorilla group "Kolina" that was fighting against the military dictatorship. The "Manice Garice Branch" of Kolina having only 12 armed workers was fully active. This wing was alleged for bank robberies, stealing of cars, and 2 bomb blasts but no charge of any killing. During all this struggle the Manice Garice group had exchange of firing with the police and two police men were killed and one was injured. So the group members as well as Ro Save had to change places every night to stay. After some time the leader of the group directed the workers to shift to Revdi Janeiro' where she had to stay in her aunt's house, where she met Carlos Franklin and they married. It was her second marriage. Her first marriage was with Caaudio Galeno Linhares in 1968 but they got separated during 1970.Her second husband a son of a famous advocate was a journalist and a member of Brazilian Communist Party. This party suggested the merger of Kolina and "Popular Revolutionary Van Guard". The suggestion was acted upon and after merger it was named as " Revolutionary Armed Van Guard Palmarse" (VAR Palmarse).
