Pakistan Railways Has Been Destroyed By Rulers
In an era where trains competing with planes in speed are being built and run, the affairs of Pakistan railways have been deteriorated to the extent that Railways minister Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour is mentally prepared for the complete stoppage of the railway. The impression in the masses is common the some of the high ranking officers of the department own private transport companies or have shares in the companies. The news are also circulating that several institutions and powerful private transport companies are working against the restoration and improvement of the railways for which they use political influence. Transporters are so much powerful that they did not permit circular railway in Karachi, the 10.5 million population. Present and former governments are no exception in this matter.
Enjoying the perks and privileges of the federal ministry of railways since 2008, Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour' strange logic is as he said," if Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia did not vanish without railways then Pakistan can exists too with out railway" But worthy minister does not know that Saudi Arabia has started train from Mina to Arafat during last Hajj season that is no less in speed, latest technology and facilities than the bullet train of Japan and China. The elected representatives do not care for the masses whom they have to work for that the train is the cheapest source of transport and communication every where in the world. The poorest will have to suffer due to the closure of the railways. A passenger will have to pay PKR 1000 from Lahore to Rawalpindi while he can travel for PKR 190 between the two cities by railway. Though people know that Pakistani train is never on time.
