Indian authorities are not granting clearance to a Pakistani woman who has been living in India and wants to return home, according to Express News.
Kubra Gillani, from Muzaffarabad district, wants to return to Pakistan after divorcing her husband. She married Muhammad Altaf, a resident of Indian occupied Kashmir in March 2010. The two parted ways after eight years of marriage in November 2018.
Kubra got a new passport issued from the Pakistan embassy to return to the country but now the Indian government is not allowing her to travel.
Kubra claims she has been visiting the interior ministry office for several months but is not being issued clearance.
She says she works as a housekeeper and has appealed to Pakistani authorities to communicate with their Indian counterparts and facilitate her return.
