Sandra Oh made history as she picked up a Golden Globe award on Sunday night - but she wasn't the only member of her family to shine in the spotlight at the awards. Quite the opposite in fact.
The 47-year-old, who not only co-hosted the award ceremony but also took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Television Series, shared the moment with her proud parents, who captivated Twitter with their incredibly enthusiastic reaction to her win.
As soon as Sandra's name was announced as the winner of the category - in which she was nominated for her role in Killing Eve - the cameras panned to show her parents, Oh Junsu and Jeon Young-nam, clapping delightedly, with her father even giving her a standing ovation.
The sweet moment set social media alight, with hundreds of people taking the time to comment on Sandra's proud mom and dad - whom she ensured received a special thank you in her acceptance speech.
Sandra dedicated her award to her parents, who moved to Canada from Korea in the 1960s, before addressing them directly in Korean.
She fought back tears as she said: 'There are two people here tonight that I'm so grateful that they're here with me. I'd like to thank my mother and my father.'
The grinning couple received their own very loud round of applause from the audience - a sentiment that was echoed over and over on Twitter, as user after user shared images and gifs of the duo clapping happily for their beloved daughter.
Some Twitter users even admitted that the moment reduced them to tears of joy, with one person writing: 'I literally started bawling when @IamSandraOh thanked her parents in Korean at the Golden Globes.'
One user added: 'Just shed actual human tears watching @IamSandraOh thank her parents,' while another piped up: 'Seeing Sandra Oh’s parents give her a standing ovation made my eyes leak.'
Many people praised Sandra and her parents for stealing the show at the awards ceremony, with a number of Twitter users claiming it was the most special, and memorable, moment of the whole evening.
'I think we can all say that the highlight of the #GoldenGlobes was Sandra Oh and her parents,' one person commented, while another insisted: 'Sandra Oh's parents won the night #GoldenGlobes'
One went as far as to say that the couple's reaction to their daughter's Golden Globes win had done a great deal more than steal the spotlight at the show, writing: 'Sandra Oh's parents have already made 2019 better than 2018.'
Others, meanwhile, simply expressed their delight at seeing such a 'cute' moment unfold on the screen in front of them.
'@IamSandraOh's parents are so cute,' one person commented, while another chimed in to say: 'The cutest thing at the @goldenglobes was @IamSandraOh's parents!'
Needless to say, the couple are now nearly as famous as their daughter - who earned a great deal of praise for her hosting skills on Sunday evening.
However, although it is perhaps their most high-profile appearance at an award show to date, it is by no means the first time that Oh Junsu and Jeon Young-nam have attended such a glittering event.
The couple has been a rather regular fixture on the awards season circuit since the very start of Sandra's career, making a number of appearances at various ceremonies alongside their beloved daughter.
Oh Junsu and Jeon Young-nam attended the Primetime Emmy Awards with Sandra both in 2006 and 2008, and have also been pictured with her at a few slightly less glamorous affairs, including the opening night of her off-Broadway play Satellites in 2006.
Interestingly, Sandra has spoken out in the past about her parents' disapproval of her pursuit of a career in the arts, revealing in the past their upset after she turned down a journalism scholarship to Carleton University in order to study at the National Theatre School of Canada.
'It was very, very tough,' she told Ellen DeGeneres in a 2007 appearance on her talk show. 'Because, like, you know, my parents at that time looked down on the arts....It's like one step above, you know, prostitution.'
Sandra, whose father is a businessman, while her mother is a biochemist, also told the TV host that she is 'the only person in my family who doesn't have a master's in something,' revealing that her sister became a lawyer while her brother holds a PhD in medical genetics.
But whatever her parents thought of her acting career at first, it appears they have since changed their tune - to the point of doing a complete 180, if their show of support on Sunday night is anything to go by.
Despite not having a masters like her siblings, Sandra is at the very top of her field, having earned herself a reputation as one of the most respected and talented actors in the industry, as well as landing herself a place in the history books.
In addition to her parents' sweet reaction, Sandra's win at this year's Golden Globes will go down in history for another very important reason.
The former Grey's Anatomy star is the first Asian actress to win multiple Golden Globes, after adding her 2006 win, when she took home the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film for her role in Grey's Anatomy.
She is also the first Asian woman to be nominated in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Television Series.
This year, the Killing Eve star - who won for her portrayal of MI6 agent Eve Polastri - beat out tough competition from Julia Roberts (Homecoming), Caitriona Balfe (Outlander), Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale), and Keri Russell (The Americans).
