Bhutto Would Have Not Been Hanged If......?
It is a tradition in Pakistan either they may be bureucrates )retired) or former politiciand they narrates the stories of their their courageous events and advices they would have given to dictators while the later would have not been alive. Same is true of Former Punjab governor Ghulam Mustafa Khar said that he had advised former prime minister (the late) Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to appoint Lt Gen (R) Abdul Majeed Malik as Chief of Army Staff(COAS). However after developing differences with Khar, Bhutto changed his mind and selected Zia Ul Haq as COAS. (No body could dare to advise Bhutto). "Had Bhutto appointed Abdul Majeed Malik he would have not been hanged" said Khar. He said this at the launching ceremony of autobiography of 96-year-old Lt Gen (R) Abdul Majeed Malik, "Hum Bhi Wahan Maujod Thay--- Dastan e Hayat" (We were there too-story of life). Khar also said that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif would have not been dethroned if he would have appointed Lt Gen Ali Kuli Khan insted of Parvez Musharraf. Majjed Malik belongs to Chakwal he has been MNA fron this constituency ans also served as federal minister as well ambassador.
