Canadian Judge Refused To Hear Case Of Muslim Woman Wearing Hijab
A Quebec judge told a Muslim womanRania El Alloul, appearing in her Montreal court room she would not hear her case until she removed her hijab. Judge Eliana Morengo told that courtroom was a seclar place and was not suitably dressed. Judge said hats and sunglasses are not allowed in courtroom, and same rule applies to everyone. Rania was in courtroom to to apply to get her car back after it was seized by Quebec's automobile insurance board. Sameer Zuberi, a board member with Canadian Muslim Forum and a law graduate said, ' he was flabbergasted, "This is really just a no brainer". "The judge should have known better, this is not the first time somebody walks into the courtroom with a religious dress, Jews, men who wear the 'kippa' have been here for decades and they have certainly been involved into the courtroom setting".
