Ban May Be Lifted On "India's Daughter"-- Farhan
Actor-cum-director Farhan Akhtar has come to support the documentary :"India's Daughter" and expressed his views that filmmaker's intentis not to defame India. In his message on micro blogging site Twitter, he has appealed to the ministry concerned to lift the ban on documentary. It is pertinent to mention here that his father veteran writer-lyricist voiced his strong opinion in favour of the documentary recently. The documentary, on December 16, gang rape in Delhi has triggered an uproar over the interview of Mukesh Singh, one of the six rapists of 23-year-old paramedical student. The director watched the documentary India's daughter in its premier in the US. The actor-film-maker has also launches a compaign MARD( Man Against Racial (Discrimination) in 2013 to promote gender equality and women empowerment. India's daughter documents brutal assault on a girl who was gang raped by a group of men, including driver and cleaner, in a moving bus when she was returning home with her male friend. It also features an interview with her parents.
