Third Summary For Ending Railway Engines Deal With China Sent To PM
The railway ministry has sent a summary to prime minister for ending the $12 billion agreement with China as the locomotives and bogies imported from China are sub-standard. This summary has been sent for the third prime minter as the summaries sent to the former PMs Yousuf Gilani and Psarvez Asharf were not not ccepted. The former railway minister Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour had been insisting to make the deal successful in his tenure and he had ordered to pay $ 10 million as advance to Chinese company inspite of the instruction of Standing committee for non payment. The former PMs rejected the summasries of ending the deal because of the fear of minding of China that will affect the friendship between the both countries. After the revelation of scandal, Pakistan is already paying a fine of $ 150,000 daily to China Bank for not using the loan aince 2010. And by now Pakistan has paid a fine of tousands of dollars. While, Pakistan did not receive a single locomotive yet. This is test case for the present government because China is pressurizing Pakistan to continue with the agreement inspite of corruption scandal.
