Case Against Pakistani-American Regarding Blasphemous Remarks
Islamabad police has registered a case against Pakistan-born American Dr Iftekhar regarding regarding blasphemous remarks in his book. The case was registered on the complaint of his own nephew Usman. Dr Iftekhar has been arrested and shifted to unknown place. Police officer at I-9 circle told the media that Dr Ifyekhar wrote a book "Rutba- e- Rasool" and his some of the wordings are against the status of Hazrat Muhammad Mutafa (PBUH) that come under the blasphemous act. Police said that people had protested against his sentences written in the book and had blocked traffic on IJP road a few days back. Dr Iftekhar had been residing in the USA for a longer time and he is PhD in Chemistry. Police said the case was registered under panel code section 295, which had sentence to death.
