The First Synthetic Human Organ Developed In The World
The Scientists of Holland with the help of American and British medical experts have developed first of its kind a usable synthetic organ, the air pipe that has been installed in the throat of a young man. This was of course a great achievement and is a mile stone in the medical world. The creation of a synthetic organ has proved that scientists can develop other human organs like kidney, heart, liver, lung and eyes. This will save the patients from trouble of waiting for a donor of a organ.
This successful experiment was conducted on a 36 year old man of Iretaria who suffered from the cancer of air pipe and his throat was swollen like a golf ball. If he had not been substituted the synthetic organ he would have died. Indi Maryam was a student in University of Iceland at Reckjavek.
Indi was deputed to Carolinska University Hospital in Stockholm Holland that is an International Center for tissue engineering (genetic engineering). He was under treatment of Prof Paolo who had already operated 8 donor air pipes but this case was a complicated one as no donor air pipe was available. At last the team of doctors decided to fix synthetic air pipe to Indi's throat.
First of all the doctor's team prepared a specimen of Indi's air pipe through 3 D Computerized Tomography (CT Scan). Then it was given the shape of plaster of Paris. This specimen was again dispatched to a team of experts headed by Dr Elexeder at University College London. The team of Prof Elexender with the day and night untired hard work prepared a Y shape structure of air pipe scientifically called Matrix. This structure was prepared from nano composite polymer. ( polymer is a material made up of particles resembling to plastic). It is worth mentioning that nano composite material is so thin that some parts of it are 100 nano meter thick. Guess its thinness that Our hair one is 60000 nano meter thick. In addition Prof Elexender prepared such a polymer that is acceptable by human body system and neither cuts nor tears in the body. This polymer is so elastic, strong and versatile so that cells can be grown with in polymer.
