Cibra pearl is a mineral called Chlorophane and it is not formed in the body of the snake. Some researches suggest that snakes as old as hundred years might use chlorophane [ebbles to attract fire-flies. Cobra stones are rare to find as the life of the cobra in captivity is around 20-30 years. Hindus worship snakes and they are an integral part of Hindu cukture. There are festivals during which snakes are worshiped. There are special temples for snakes too. Many Hindu Gurus wera snakes around their neck and waiste and make bed of it. The worship of the snakes is closely related with fertility rituals. Women throng here certain days and feed milk to snakes and offer worship. Hindus name chikdren after snakes like Nagappa or Nanga mma. They consider killing of snakes a sin. They do not kill snakes even they find at homes or in the open fields though they know they are poisonous. There are several myths related to snakes specially Cobra snakes. People believe that old cobra hoods carry pearl that radiates in the darkness and bestows luck and great on whoever possesses them It is said that snakes lives 100 years or more and has not exhausted its venom, the venom ardens in to an indescent pearl and snakes uses this pearl to hunt the prey. Some varieties of clorophanes found in the pearl phosphoresce in the dark for hours when holding in hands for some movements.
