A senior leader of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced Rs 100 million prize for the heads of Nanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Pedukone, the director and lead actress of film Padmavati. Suraj Pal Amu also threatened Ranveer Singh, who plays a villian in the film that he will break his legs for working in the movie. The BjP leader praised those announcing head money earlier, saying that they will be rewarded by him. Padmavato has been mired in several controversies: many rajput groups have alleged that the film has objectionable scenes of Queen Padmavati and Emperor Alla ud Din Khilji and has tampared with historical facts. The film has been making headlines months before its release in December, which was recently postponed due to the incessant controversy. Various Indian celeberities have come out in support of the film, including Salman Khan and Shabana Azmi.
