The actress Pratyusha Banerjee came out of nowhere to rule the small screen for few years in a daily soap "Balika Vadhu". The [opular show has been running for many years and Pratyusha stepped in as character Anandi in 2010. In March this year when Pratyusha quit 'Balika Vadhu' all hell broke loose and a barrage of hate messages were unleashed by the huge fan -following that Prats had developed. This prime-time soap catapulted Pratyusha's fame to a new height. Viewers threatened stop watching the show and rejecteed her replacement. The sudden exit left the audience extremely disappointed, so mucg so that fans signed a petition to bring her back. Contraray to reports that Patyusha exit for seeing greener pastures in Bollywood, she told that she wanted to spend more time with her ailing mother. Prats had been offered a film by Vikram Bhutt but the television's favourite star promisee to stick to the small screen. Prats stint with reality show strted with dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhla Jaa" She did not impress the judges and her stay was short lived. She was off the radasr for some time till she broke-up with her boyfriend and filed a police complaint against him. Reality show "Bigg Boss 7" was hr next stop. This star show has the reputation of sheltring fading star of showbiz. But the mission of her regain her popularity backfired. During her stay in Bigg Boss 7 house, Prats reduced herself as a non-funtional member, refusing to perform tasks, drowning in pool of tears and getting into silly arguments every now and then. Audiences were disaapointed to see the immature side of the actress whom they once idolized. Pratyusha was called the mouthpiece of co-contestant Kamya Punjabi and Gauhar Khan. Even the host Salman Khan pointed out that Prats needs to pull her socks up and give her own opinion. She was often accused of changing her stances on Kamya's insistence. The fact that she was nominated for six times speaks volume of her stay in the reality show. Eventually her non-acive juvinile behaviour was too much for fans and they voted her out. After expoeriencing unprecedented fame with "Balika Vadhu" Prats popularity suffered a huge blow in Bigg Boss. She has also been dropped out of the serial which was to be aired on Star Plus.
