Chi Magazine Defended Publishing Pregnant Kate's Bikini Photos
The editor of Italian gossip magazine Chi has defended using photos of pregnant Duchess of Cambridge in bikini, on holiday saying, " they are photos of a young couple in love." He said that the photos are not invasion of privacy. St James Palace said the publication was "a breach of the couple's right to privacy". Images are also planned for an Australian magazine on Monday. Meanhile ITV apolgised for showing an unblurred image of magazine. Mr Signorini told the BBC " they are images of such unexceptional normality that there is only limited mention of them on the cover of the magazine". 'The photos which in no way can be consideted scandulous, were purchased from an international photo agency, do not harm the image of the protagonists and the reaction of the media is wholly over the top'. Moreover, the photographs can hardly be considered invasion of the privacy, when the subjrcts are public figures in a public place, in the open air, specially on the beach surrounded by other bathers. He added "what our readers see is a moment of joyful relaxation being enjoyed by a smiling, happy couple, where is the scandal". The publisher confirmed the Chi magazine went on sale in Italy on Monday. The duchess who is about four months pregnant, is pictured on the magazine's front cover in a bikini, in the sea, above the headline," the belly grows". In another image, she is pictured walking with her husband on the beach on te Caribbean island of Mustique.
